Top 10 things to do in Sevilla

Posted on Aug 25, 2015

Road trip through the south of Spain. Loads and loads of things to see and just one day to enjoy everything.

Do you see yourself in this situation? Don’t know what to expect from the city? Calm down because I’m here to help you with my list of the top 10 things to do in Sevilla.

1)Walk along the Guadalquivir river, at the side of  Torre del Oro. I didn’t get inside the tower, but instagram told me that if you want, it’s possible to get to the top and enjoy the view.

2) Lose some hours inside the Real Alcázar and its wonderful gardens. Remember to take a look at the city’s upcoming events; at summer some concerts take place in the surroundings.

3)Visit Plaza España and take a look at all the paintings on the wall that surrounds the square. Each of them represents a different province of Spain. By the way, did you know that Star Wars Ep2 was filmed there? If you don’t trust me, Click here!

4)Get inside the beautiful Cabildo square and notice the difference between the calm that reigns inside compared to the amount of noise at the street..

5) Say Hi to the Plaza de Toros from the outside. It’s a lovely building, but this blog doesn’t support “toradas” and doesn’t want you to pay to see one.

6) Notice the colourful balconies and hidden corners, that are just as cheerful as the vibe of the city.

7) Get on top of Espacio Metropol Parasol. You get a free drink with the entrance ticket and, with luck, you will be able to see a full moon over the golden city.

8) Take a look at the Catedral. Just don’t forget that, at least in summer, you will probably have to wait a long time under the sun before getting in. Truth to be told, I only looked at it from the outside.

9) Don’t forget about the tapas! I went to the well recommended La Azotea but had some mixed feelings about it. My “carrillada” dish was cold inside, very disappointing. On the other hand, the lamb couscous was amazing, one of the best I ever had. When in doubt, don’t order carrillada.

10) And don’t forget about the breakfast! Here in the south, sandwiches are huge! They can easily feed 2 people! Or maybe I got used to the tapas served in barcelona hehe
